Introduction: You have been invited to voluntarily participate in a study regarding the impact of counsellor factors on rates of client non-attendance.

Procedures: In this study, you will be asked to provide details on your way of working, the number of client sessions you have scheduled and the rates of attendance to these sessions over a set time period. We will get in touch a further three times (once every quarter) with the same questions, so that one year’s worth of data is collected.

Risks: We do not anticipate any harm or discomfort greater than that experienced in daily life to be caused by this study. We have not assessed any risk of injury from participating in this study. This study does not involve deception or persuasion in any form. Your participation is strictly voluntary, and your answers should be your own.

Benefits: This study is intended to increase awareness of the factors that could be impacting client attendance. We hope for this information to be used to reduce non-attendance and lead to future research in how to improve client engagement.

Confidentiality: All information collected during this study is treated confidentially and it is only used for the purposes of the research. Researchers only have access to the information you provide. The researchers cannot link your answers or participant ID number to your name or other information that could directly identify you. The only personal information collected is your email address, which will be handled in line with GDPR. This field is optional and will only be used to contact you for further data collection and to update you regarding the progress of the research. Collection methods will ensure that your email is not connected to the data submitted.

Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. We ask for your consent to participate in this study, which applies for the length of this study. You have the right not to take part in this study. If you decide to participate in this study, you are free to stop at any time, without any negative consequences, and without giving any reason. As the data collected is anonymous it cannot be identified as belonging to a single individual after submission, and therefore we will be unable to withdraw any responses once submitted.
